Nuuk Airport to the city centre: bus or taxi

Nuuk Airport is close to town. You have two options: city bus route 3, which is cheap but stops in the late afternoon, or a taxi. Have cash ready for the bus, and a taxi number saved for later arrivals. [1]

Nuuk's new airport (code GOH) opened in November 2024. Its runway is 2,200 m long, and it sits 4 km from the city centre, about 10 minutes by taxi or local bus, according to Air Greenland. [2]

By bus: route 3

Greenland Airports says city bus route 3 runs to and from the airport every day. The last bus from the airport leaves at 17:11. [1] Route 3 runs between H.J.Rinksvej and Eqalugalinnguit Tasiat and has 28 stops. The timetable on the operator's site has been valid since 19 June 2026. [5] Check it on bus.gl for your day of travel. We have not copied departure times here because they change.

Nuup Bussii fares, valid from 1 February 2026: [3]

  • Cash ticket: DKK 20, valid for 1 hour. Cash only, bought on the bus.
  • Punch card: DKK 175 for 10 punches. Several people can share one card.
  • Monthly pass: DKK 605.
  • Students: 50% off.

The bus company also lists a route X3. We could not confirm whether it serves the airport. Unverified Check the route map at bus.gl. [5]

By taxi

Greenland Airports lists two taxi companies: Nuuk Taxi +299 36 36 36 and Taxagut +299 32 13 21. [1]

Nuuk Taxi publishes its tariff (in Danish, marked as valid from 1 May 2024). For a regular taxi with up to 4 passengers: [4]

  • Start fee: DKK 24 (DKK 26 at weekends and on public holidays).
  • Per km: DKK 18 on weekdays 07–17; DKK 20 Monday–Thursday 17–23; DKK 22 at night (23–07); DKK 22 at weekends (Friday 17:00 to Monday 07:00) and on holidays.
  • Airport surcharge: DKK 20 per trip to or from Nuuk Airport.
  • Waiting time: DKK 350 per hour.
  • Large taxi (up to 7 passengers): start fee DKK 39 (41 at weekends and on holidays), and DKK 33, 35, 37 or 37 per km in the same time bands. With 4 passengers or fewer, the regular tariff applies.

Greenland Airports lists these facilities at Nuuk Airport: duty free, parking, an ATM, Wi-Fi, self check-in, bag drop, a lounge, a café and a kids' area. [1] An ATM is useful if you want cash for the bus. Visit Greenland says ATMs in Greenland accept Visa, Mastercard, Eurocard, Diners and Dankort with a PIN. [6]

If your flight lands after the last bus at 17:11, or it might be delayed, save a taxi number before you fly. [1] For delays and rebooking, contact your airline.
